What happened to Rendezvous the Radio Program

Rendezvous has moved to a new time slot. It is still on Sunday but runs from 6:00-8:00 PM Atlantic Daylight Savings Time. Remember you can catch us live on the web, just click on the link "CFMH Radio" on the side of my blog. Each week we have a theme that our music is chosen around. This week the theme is "I Only Have Eyes For You" and our music and poetry will all have to do with eyes and of course love.

Facebook

My daughter introduced me to facebook. It is such a delight to discover my friends there and to be a small part of their daily lives. It's also a great place to share your digital pictures. Try it you might like it. facebook.com

Ferocious Rhino Taken Down

Walking through the jungle, a hunter found a dead ferocious looking rhinoceros with a pygmy standing proudly beside it. Amazed, the hunter asked, "Did you kill that rhino?"

"Why yes," said the pygmy.

"How could a little fella, like you, kill a beast, like that?"

"I killed it with my club,"explained the pygmy.

The astonished hunter exclaimed, "Wow! How big is your club?"

The pygmy replied, "There are about 90 of us."

This for all my friends in the organizations I am involved with.

Quote of the Week

Inside me lives a skinny woman crying to get out. But I can usually shut the witch up with cookies.
~ (Unknown)

As many of you know I have been battling the "Battle of the Bulge" since 2003. I have finally reached my goal and am 72 pounds lighter than when I began. Thanks to my son Tim for not letting me procrastinate. I was going to "start Monday". I'll never forget what he said to me. He said "Mom, if you're going to do it, DO IT!, don't wait for Monday." And thank you to LA Weight Loss who helped me shed the last 38 pounds and are still hanging in there with me so that I do not gain it back. Thanks to all my friends for noticing and making me feel like a million bucks. I may need a million bucks if I don't stop shopping. It is so much more fun to shop when you feel good about your body image.

Yesterday When I Was Young

This week we went through a musical journey back in time to our school days. School days, school days, dear old golden rule days, back when math was arithmetic and when phonics was an important part of the curriculum. Those were days of first love and first heartache. I remember my first breakup. I had a good cry in the shower and when I was done, I moved on, unlike today when girls mope for days. Those were days of sock hops and dances, when you really wanted to dance but were scared to death that someone might actually ask you to.
Our musical journey took us through these memories with several songs for the 50s including Chuck Berry's School Days and ending with 18 Till I Die by Bryan Adams.
Young love: I love you because I need you.
Mature Love: I need you because I love you.
